Village Health Commitees (VHCs) implemented HIV/AIDS campaigns

Village Health Committees in 12 villages have begun HIV/AIDS prevention education promotion
according to project plans supported by Project HOPE Thailand's Community Led HIV/AIDS
Prevention Project. The activities are vary depend on strategies, target groups and internal resources
such as village broadcasting, exhibitions in schools, home visit education, mobile learning kiosk, and
workshops. All activities aim for educating and raising awareness of people living in rural villages
about HIV/AIDS and understanding of how to prevent themselves from being infected.

During the previous month, there were 8 villages in Mea Rim and Sansai districts conducted 9
HIV/AIDS prevention trainings, targetting on youth, men and housewives, which trained approximately
320 villagers to be HIV/AIDS prevention volunteers. The volunteers will promote and educate their
villages on HIV/AIDS knowledge and provention by using personnel and resources in their own
communities.
